BLACKPINK’s Lisa made her acting debut in HBO’s The White Lotus Season 3, playing Mook, a sly hotelier at a luxury Thai resort. Her role marked a major milestone as she stepped into the global spotlight through Hollywood.

Former THE BOYZ member Ju Haknyeon has become the subject of serious controversy following a police complaint alleging that he solicited prostitution during a recent trip to Japan. On June 19, a formal report was filed with the Seoul Gangnam Police Station requesting a full investigation into the matter.

The complaint comes just a day after Ju Haknyeon’s abrupt departure from THE BOYZ and his agency, ONE HUNDRED. On June 18, the company issued a brief statement citing “personal issues” as the reason for his withdrawal from all entertainment activities. The announcement offered no specifics, sparking widespread speculation online.

The unnamed individual who filed the complaint referenced multiple media reports and rumors, claiming that Ju Haknyeon had effectively admitted to the allegations through his agency’s internal disciplinary actions. According to the filer, a producer from the same company was also removed from their position under similar circumstances, further implicating the idol and suggesting a possible pattern within the organization.

While the alleged incident took place in Tokyo between May 29 and 30, the complaint argues that South Korean law still applies to citizens who engage in prostitution abroad. “Although the act occurred in Tokyo, South Korean nationals can still be prosecuted for such actions committed overseas,” the complaint emphasized.

Fueling the controversy is a viral image that circulated online earlier this month, showing Ju Haknyeon at what appeared to be a bar in Tokyo. He was photographed alongside Asuka Kirara, a former adult video (AV) actress in Japan, which led to a surge in speculation. The meeting raised eyebrows and led to accusations that the idol may have engaged in prostitution or other inappropriate behavior during the visit.

The public response has been intense, with many fans expressing disappointment and confusion. Some have demanded transparency from the agency, while others have criticized the lack of concrete evidence tying Ju Haknyeon to illegal activity.

In response to the uproar, Ju Haknyeon issued a handwritten letter on June 19 via Instagram. In it, he apologized to fans for the distress caused by recent events. However, he strongly denied any involvement in illegal acts, stating that the rumors were unfounded.

“I am deeply sorry for causing concern, but I did not commit any crime,” he wrote.

Despite his denial, the case remains under review by authorities, and public opinion remains divided. With both fans and critics awaiting further developments, the fallout from this scandal continues to cast a shadow over the idol’s once-promising career.
