
Veteran actor Rakesh Bedi recently shared a few insights into his experience working on the upcoming film Dhurandhar 2 during a brief interaction with the media at News18 Showsha Reel Awards 2026. Known for his effortless comic timing and memorable supporting roles over decades, Bedi kept his responses simple and understated while speaking about the project and his preparation for the film.
When asked what fans could expect from the much-awaited sequel, Bedi chose to keep things mysterious and to the point. Without revealing plot details or giving away much about his character, he simply confirmed the release timeline of the film.
“It’s coming on 19th March.”
His short but clear response hinted at the anticipation building around the film’s release. Fans of the franchise have been eagerly waiting for updates, and the confirmation of the release date only adds to the excitement.
Speaking about his preparation for the role, Bedi explained that the process was quite natural for him. Rather than over-preparing or going through intense training, he relied on instinct and his years of acting experience.
“I did a little bit of homework. Not much. Most of it came very organically.”
This approach reflects the actor’s long-standing belief in allowing performances to evolve naturally during filming rather than forcing them through heavy preparation.
When asked whether he faced any particular challenges while preparing for the role or during the shooting process, Bedi appeared relaxed and unfazed. His response suggested that the shoot went smoothly and that the role came to him quite comfortably. “I don’t think so.”
The actor also had warm words for the film’s director, Aditya Dhar. When asked about working under Dhar’s direction, Bedi praised the filmmaker’s collaborative and open-minded approach on set.
“Great guy, great director. Very sensible. Very sensitive. And extremely adjustable and open to ideas.”
His comments highlight Dhar’s reputation for being a director who values collaboration and welcomes creative input from actors.
