Dhanush reveals his union with Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth was not LOVE Marriage

Tamil actor Dhanush and director Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth have been granted divorce 20 years after they got married. The Chennai Family Welfare Court in Chenani granted Dhanush and Aishwaryaa divorce after they stated that reconciliation was not possible. While the former couple was one of the power couples in the city, an old statement of the actor has resurfaced in which he announced that he and Aishwaryaa did not date before wedding. Their relationship came into being because of the link up reports.

On November 1, 2004, Dhanush hosted a press conference in which he announced his wedding. At the time, Rediff reported that Dhanush vehemently denied rumours that it was a love marriage. He confessed he knew Aishwaryaa but only as his elder sister’s friend. However, the media began linking both of them. In an attempt to debunk the rumours, both the families came together to find a solution. However, during the chat, the families began thinking, “What is wrong with the idea of marriage?"

“So, I have to thank the media for my marriage with Aishwarya. I reiterate that ours is not a love marriage," Dhanush said. Aishwaryaa is older than Dhanush. They share an age difference of two years. At the press conference, Dhanush addressed the age gap reports and said, “The age factor does not affect me at all."

About 18 years later, Aishwaryaa and Dhanush announced their separation. On January 17, 2022, they shared a joint statement that read: “18 years of togetherness as friends, couple, as parents and well-wishers to each other.

The journey has been one of growth, understanding, adjustment, and adaptation. Today, we stand at a place where our paths separate." Rajinikanth has not commented on their divorce yet.
