Deepika Padukone rejects third season of The White Lotus, to focus on impending motherhood

Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone has just delivered a super hit in Kalki 2898 AD and is now wrapping up pending shoots before going on a maternity break.

The actress is expecting her first child with husband Ranveer Singh, and the baby is due in September.

According to reports, the Singham Again actress is going to take a break from work and wants to be a 'hands-on' mother.

The reports said that she has rejected the third season of The White Lotus, wanting to focus more time on motherhood and go slow.

Deepika Padukone is not signing any new projects right now. "Deepika loves children. She bonds with them instinctively. You can be sure there will be no nannys or nanas to look after her child when it is born. I don’t think Deepika would ever let Ranveer share in parental chores. She will be a 100% hands-on mother,” a source told Times Now.

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh had announced their pregnancy in February 2024.

The actress has been busy shooting for her projects before going on break. Deepika has been subject to trolling, with some sections of netizens calling her pregnancy fake.

When she had stepped out for the launch of Kalki 2898 AD in June, she was called out for wearing high heels. Some even went on to say that she is wearing a bag.

Later, Ranveer Singh shut down trolls and wrote on his Instagram stories, “Buri nazar wale tera moonh kala” along with an evil-eye emoji.

On the work front, Deepika was last seen in Kalki 2898 AD and will be next seen as Lady Singham in Rohit Shetty's cop verse Singham Again. She will be seen with her husband, Ranveer Singh, and the ensemble cast of Ajay Devgn, Arjun Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, and Akshay Kumar.
