The gruesome discovery of Renukaswamy’s body on June 9 set the wheels of this tragic story in motion. The body, bearing visible injuries, was found near a drain in Sumanahalli, off Magadi Road, by a security guard from a nearby apartment complex. This discovery led the police to file a murder case, initiating a chain of events that would eventually implicate Darshan Thoogudeepa.

June 10, 2024: Four Youth Surrender to Police

The case took a significant turn when four young individuals surrendered to the Kamakshipalya police on June 10. They confessed to murdering Renuka Swamy over a financial dispute and disposing of the body. However, the police suspected a larger conspiracy and conducted detailed interrogations, uncovering the involvement of Darshan and others.

On June 11, the police apprehended Darshan at a hotel in Mysuru and transported him to Bengaluru. Along with Darshan, 14 others, including his girlfriend Pavithra Gowda, were arrested on charges of murdering Renuka Swamy and attempting to destroy evidence. The suspects were brought before the court and remanded to police custody.

June 16, 2024: Court Case Begins

On June 16, all the murder suspects were produced in court, where they were detained in judicial custody. The police custody of Darshan, Pavithra, and the other 11 suspects was extended by five days. By June 22, prison officials had designated Darshan as an undertrial prisoner, assigning him the number 6106. Following him were Dhanaraj (6107), Vinay (6108), and Pradosh (6109). Initially, Darshan was placed in a high-security cell but was later transferred to the prison hospital and subsequently moved to the barracks.

The Crime and Investigation

Darshan’s descent from a celebrated star to a prisoner began with the murder of Renuka Swamy. Renuka, a 33-year-old youth, was reportedly harassing Pavithra Gowda, Darshan’s alleged girlfriend. Swamy, who had sent explicit images and objectionable messages to Gowda, was blamed for creating a rift between Darshan and his wife, Vijayalakshmi.

The investigation revealed that an 11-member gang killed Renukaswamy on Darshan’s orders. The gang executed the murder in a cold-blooded manner, with Renukaswamy’s body showing signs of severe physical assault. The police's thorough interrogation of the suspects led to a detailed understanding of Darshan’s involvement in the crime.

The case has garnered significant media attention, with every development being closely followed by the public. Darshan, known as 'D Boss' in Sandalwood, was a beloved figure in the Kannada film industry. His arrest shocked his fans and raised questions about the pressures and influences within the film industry. The media has been relentless in covering the case, with detailed reports and analysis of each phase of the investigation.

Darshan’s Legal Battles

Darshan’s legal team is preparing for a fierce battle in court, aiming to prove his innocence. However, the prosecution, armed with confessions and substantial evidence, is confident in their case against him. The trial is expected to be lengthy and complicated, with both sides presenting their arguments and evidence to support their claims.
