Border 3 is officially happening. Riding high on the strong box office run of Border 2, producer Bhushan Kumar has confirmed that the makers plan to take the war-drama franchise forward with a third instalment.

The update has quickly excited fans, especially because the original Border (1997) remains one of the most loved patriotic films in Hindi cinema.

As per the report, Bhushan Kumar and filmmaker Anurag Singh have discussed continuing the series, though the team is still keeping major details under wraps. The makers have said Border 3 will happen in due course, suggesting that the film is on the cards but will take time to move into active production. They are currently occupied with another project, and that will be completed first before the next chapter begins.

The new film will once again be mounted as a collaboration between T-Series and JP Films, the banners that also came together for Border 2. However, the release date has not been announced yet, and there is no confirmation on the cast or plot at this stage. Even the director for Border 3 has not been finalised, according to the report, which indicates that early planning is underway.

In an interview quoted in the piece, Bhushan spoke about building something new with Anurag Singh. He said they are doing a joint venture between their companies. In the same conversation, he reiterated that Border 3 will happen, and the franchise will be extended.

Bhushan also underlined why continuing the series makes sense right now. He noted that bringing back a franchise after nearly 30 years and receiving so much love makes it natural to keep moving forward. He added that the team will definitely take it forward.

The confirmation comes at a time when Border 2 is enjoying a golden run in theatres. The film, which released on January 23, is expected to enter the Rs 200 crore club in India within days, making it a standout success for 2026 so far. The report also mentions that the film has already crossed the Rs 190 crore mark domestically.

Border 2 is headlined by Sunny Deol and features Diljit Dosanjh, Varun Dhawan and Ahan Shetty in key roles. With audiences clearly in the mood for large-scale war dramas again, Border 3 now feels less like a distant idea and more like the next march. For now, fans can only wait for official updates.
