Boxing champion and Olympic medallist Vijender Singh has extended his support to veteran Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav by offering him a role in his upcoming film, as Rajpal continues to be lodged in Tihar Jail facing a long-running cheque-bounce and debt case.

The gesture came via social media on February 15, 2026, when Singh posted on X, “I respect true talent,” in reference to Yadav’s decades-long contribution to Indian cinema.

On Sunday, Vijender took to X to express his admiration for Rajpal Yadav's work. In his post, he wrote, "I respect true talent. @rajpalofficial has given a lot to Indian cinema. He has brought smiles to our faces through so many characters. I extend an invitation to Rajpal Yadav ji to work together in my upcoming film, which is written and directed by @thesanjusaini, and we would like to support him at this time."

The post was soon reshared by filmmaker Sanju Saini, who also expressed his gratitude and enthusiasm for working with the actor. In his caption, he wrote, "We Love to see @rajpalofficial Sir on our set. Thanks @boxervijender bhaisaab .. Ye support sirf Rajpal Yadav sir ko hi nhi Humari film ko bhi bada kregi... thanks a lot Bhaisaab."

Before Vijender Singh’s offer, actor Sonu Sood was among the first from the film fraternity to publicly support Rajpal, pledging to cast him in his next film and emphasising that the assistance was about dignity rather than charity. Other figures such as Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn, Gurmeet Choudhary, and singer Mika Singh have also extended support amid Rajpla Yadav’s difficult phase, advocating for collective industry help.

Rajpal Yadav’s financial difficulties originated from the failure of his 2012 film Ata Pata Laapata and escalated significantly over time. According to multiple reports, he had borrowed around Rs 5 crore to finance the movie, but its poor box office performance left him unable to repay the loan. According to his lawyer and court records, interest and penalties accumulated over the years, causing the unpaid liabilities to balloon to approximately Rs 9 crore, which eventually led to legal action under the cheque-bounce provisions and his surrender to Tihar Jail in early February 2026.
