Bollywood actor Tusshar Kapoor, who is Jeetendra's son, welcomed his son Lakshya via surrogacy and IVF in June 2016. He became a single parent, making him the first actor in the industry to do so.

Since then, he and his older son have been having a great fatherhood adventure.

Tusshar recently talked about being a single parent and how the thought of being a father came up in an interview. He also disclosed throughout the conversation that he made the decision to assume this responsibility without consulting his parents.

During a recent interview with Meri Saheli, Tusshar revealed that he never found single parenting to be difficult or stressful.

He added that it felt fitting to become a father at 40, describing himself as someone who isn't very outgoing and doesn't especially love travelling. He felt that, in contrast to the push from society for many people to have children by the age of 25, he was mature and prepared to accept parenthood at that point in his life.

The actor also talkedabout marriage and stated that while he supports the institution, not everyone is suited for it.

He said, “I completely believe in marriage as an institution, but it wasn’t for me. My calling was to become a father. When I realised that, there were divine interventions. I bumped into someone, got information, met the doctors, and things just fell into place. It wasn’t planned, I went with the flow. I believed in God and kept faith."

Tusshar revealed in the same interview that he never sought approval from his family or considered telling them before accepting the task.

He continued, “I had no pressure from my parents because I never thought of asking them. I was 39. I met Prakash Jha on a flight to Tirupati. We weren’t friends but knew each other socially. While returning, our flights were cancelled and we carpooled. On the way, he asked me, ‘If you’re not destined to be a married man, why not think of being a single parent?’ He knew a single woman in his family who had become a parent around the same age. I then called up doctors. They counselled me. We took it one step at a time, and eventually, I became a father."

The actor was asked if his kid Laksshya ever questions the lack of a mother, Tusshar replied that he has always chosen to be truthful with him. He clarified that he has educated his youngster that there are several types of households. Sometimes children are adopted, sometimes parents live in distant cities, sometimes one parent dies, and occasionally parents separate.

He also revealed that he has always given his son age-appropriate explanations of their reality.
