Triptii Dimri talks about how her life changed after Animal

Triptii Dimri is having her moment. Over the years, she has impressed audiences with films like Laila Majnu, Bulbbul and Qala, but it was her short yet striking role in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s 2023 hit Animal that truly changed everything.

Sharing screen space with Ranbir Kapoor, Triptii managed to capture attention in just a few scenes — so much so that audiences crowned her the nation’s new “crush.” Overnight, her fan following soared, and suddenly, everyone wanted to know more about her.

Speaking to Filmfare, Triptii admitted she hadn’t expected such a reaction. “Life took a 360-degree turn after Animal. It has been a blessing, truly. The recognition I thought I would get during Laila Majnu actually came with Animal. I felt, since it was such a short role, mera kya hi hoga. But director Sandeep (Reddy Vanga) sir had confidence in me,” she said.

She recalled how Vanga had reassured her about the part. “He told me this film would prove to be very good for me, and whatever he said is exactly what happened. It has been such a blessing, and I have received so much love. I am also glad that because of Animal, people went back and watched my earlier films, Bulbbul, Qala and Laila Majnu,” she added with gratitude.

For Triptii, the film wasn’t just about visibility. It was about validation — that even small roles, played with honesty, can leave a lasting impression.

With Animal behind her, Triptii is now stepping into even bigger projects. She has joined hands once again with Sandeep Reddy Vanga for Spirit, this time opposite Prabhas.

The role originally belonged to Deepika Padukone, but after her exit, Triptii was officially welcomed by the director, who announced: “The female lead for my film is now official :-)”

She has also wrapped up the final schedule of Romeo in Spain, marking her first collaboration with Shahid Kapoor. Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, the film also features Randeep Hooda, Nana Patekar, Avinash Tiwary, with Disha Patani appearing in a cameo.

From being noticed for her tenderness in Laila Majnu to becoming a household name after Animal, Triptii’s rise has been nothing short of cinematic. And if her upcoming films are anything to go by, this is only the beginning.
