Sam Merchant visits Triptii Dimri in Spain

Triptii Dimri is currently in Spain, wrapping up the final schedule of her upcoming film Romeo, directed by Vishal Bhardwaj. What began as a work trip has also turned into a bit of a holiday, as she’s been joined by rumoured boyfriend Sam Merchant. While the film inches closer to completion, the couple have been spotted making the most of their time abroad.

Triptii, who stars alongside Shahid Kapoor and Randeep Hooda in the action-thriller, has been sharing glimpses from Spain on her social media.

From wandering through charming streets to sampling local street food, her posts suggest that she’s managed to strike a balance between work and play — with Sam often by her side.

According to Mid-Day, the shoot is set to wrap on 25 August with a high-octane action sequence followed by a vibrant dance number. The film also features Nana Patekar, Vikrant Massey, and Farida Jalal, and is scheduled to hit cinemas this December.

Triptii flew to Spain earlier this month with the Romeo team. As she left, paparazzi captured a rare candid moment — Sam Merchant dropping her off at the airport in his blue Porsche.

4Unlike previous instances when the two kept things under wraps, this time there was no attempt to avoid the cameras. Sam stepped out, helped her with her bags, and the two shared an affectionate smile before parting.

Over the past year, Triptii and Sam have been seen together on several occasions — from attending the special screening of her film Dhadak 2 to enjoying quiet dinners in Mumbai. Sam has also shown his support publicly, once posting a photo of Dhadak 2’s poster while travelling. Back in December, the two were seen riding through the city on a bike, Triptii opting to wear a mask to stay under the radar.

Sources suggest the actress began dating Sam following her speculated breakup with actor-producer Karnesh Ssharma in late 2022. Still, she has remained private about her personal life. Speaking to ETimes, she said, “Sometimes it really bothers (me) because I love my freedom and I miss the days where I could just walk on the roads without having to worry about anything; without a mask.”

On the professional front, Triptii was last seen in Dhadak 2 opposite Siddhant Chaturvedi, which released on 1 August. Her upcoming projects include Spirit, Ma Behen, and Animal Park.
