Since its announcement, Nitesh Tiwari's ambitious adaptation of the Ramayana has generated a lot of buzz.
The project is one of the most anticipated films of the past few years, with Sai Pallavi playing Sita and Ranbir Kapoor playing Lord Ram.
But what many didn’t know until now is that KGF star Srinidhi Shetty had also auditioned for the role of Goddess Sita before the part went to Sai Pallavi.
A short clip from one of Srinidhi’s interviews has recently gone viral on Reddit, where she was asked about rumours claiming she had turned down the opportunity.
The actress immediately set the record straight, explaining that she had indeed auditioned for the role — but wasn’t chosen.
In the video, Srinidhi humbly said, “I didn’t reject the Sita role. I’m nobody to reject it. I would’ve fallen flat if they had given me the role. I just gave an audition and wasn’t selected. I’m happy that Sai Pallavi got the role.”
Her honest and grounded response has won hearts across social media. Fans have been flooding comment sections with admiration for her grace and humility. One user wrote, “A very mature response by her.” Another added, “Wow, she’s so sportingly accepting that she got rejected. Way to go!” while another comment read, “She sounds so positive and warm.”
Meanwhile, Ramayana is shaping up to be a cinematic spectacle. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Sai Pallavi as Sita, with Yash playing Raavan and Sunny Deol as Hanuman.

The two-part epic is scheduled to release around Diwali 2026 and Diwali 2027, with filming for the second part expected to begin by October this year.
Srinidhi, who made her debut with KGF: Chapter 1 in 2018, has continued to impress fans with her grace both on and off screen.
