Singer Shilpa Rao recently shared some disappointing news with her fans. The much-awaited live concert at the Star Performing Arts Centre in Singapore, scheduled for 28 February 2026, has been cancelled.
Taking to Instagram, Shilpa Rao posted a heartfelt note explaining that despite “all our best efforts” and due to “circumstances beyond our control,” the show will no longer take place.
Shilpa Rao admitted she had been genuinely looking forward to meeting her Singapore fans and performing for them. She assured everyone that she would try her best to find another opportunity to connect soon. For those who had already bought tickets, she confirmed that full refunds would be processed via SISTIC.
She ended her message on a warm note, thanking fans for their “grace and understanding,” and signing off with, “With love, Shilpa ”.
Her post quickly drew an outpouring of support. Fans flooded the comments section with messages of encouragement, expressing sadness over the cancellation but also reassuring her of their continued love and admiration.
Many shared how much they were looking forward to hearing her perform live and hoped new dates would be announced soon.
While the cancelled concert came as a setback, there has also been tremendous reason for celebration in Shilpa Rao’s life. The singer is on a career high after winning her first National Award.
On Friday (August 1, 2025), at the 71st National Film Awards, Shilpa Rao was honoured with the Best Playback Singer award for her hit song “Chaleya” from Jawan (2023).
Following the announcement, Shilpa Rao took to Instagram to express her gratitude. In her statement, she wrote, “Today is an extremely special day. Thank you to the Government of India, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting and the National Award jury for this incredible honour. I’m truly humbled and grateful. A huge thank you to @iamsrk Sir, @anirudhofficial, @atlee47, #Bhushan Sir, @kumaarofficial Paji, @tseries.official , @redchilliesent @poojadadlani02 and the entire Jawaan team.”
She further added, “My parents, my brother @anuragnaidu_music, my husband @riteshkrishnan and my family and friends, your love is my backbone. To all my Gurus and Ustads who taught me music. Everyone in the film fraternity who worked with me and has been a guide, my gratitude . To the audiences who carry my music in their hearts, this is yours as much as mine. Thank you for being there for me every day. Feeling overwhelmed, grateful and like a giant ball of love today. Thank you.”
