The latest update about Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s much-awaited film Love and War suggests that the team has returned to the sets to reshoot several important scenes. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal in leading roles.

According to a report by IANS, the period drama, which was earlier expected to release in August this year, may now face a delay. The report states that a few crucial sequences from the film are being reshot, which could push the release timeline further.

Sources claim that the decision to redo certain scenes has been taken because Bhansali wants the film to meet his vision perfectly. Known for his meticulous filmmaking style and attention to detail, the director is reportedly keen on ensuring that every aspect of the film turns out exactly as planned.

As per insider information cited by News18, Love and War's budget has also increased as certain important scenes will be reshot. The report adds that the additional work on the film may lead to an indefinite delay in its release. As of now, the makers have not officially announced a new release date.

Love and War is set to be one of the most expensive films made by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and reports suggest that it's solely due to the grand scale of the movie.  The film is believed to feature grand aerial action sequences that require extensive visual effects work.

Given the complexity of these sequences, the VFX process is expected to take considerable time, which may also contribute to the delay.

Recently, Ranbir Kapoor had also confirmed during an Instagram Live session that the release date of Love and War has been postponed as the actor is currently focusing on Ramayana: Part 1's release set to happen first in October this year during Diwali. He also mentioned that Love and War will likely be released this year or in 2027.

Ranbir currently has two highly anticipated projects lined up, both of which have generated significant buzz among fans. Interestingly, reports also suggest that Love and War draws inspiration from the classic 1964 film Sangam, which starred Ranbir’s grandfather Raj Kapoor along with Vyjayanthimala and Rajendra Kumar.
