Bollywood actor Salman Khan rushed to visit his father, legendary screenwriter Salim Khan, who was admitted after a health crisis at Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital. The celebrity arrived at the hospital under strict protection, with a convoy of police vans and several escort cars.
Salman did not stop outside to speak with the photographers who were waiting, according to witnesses. He chose to stay in his car and went straight to the hospital instead.
Actor Sanjay Dutt and lyricist-screenwriter Javed Akhtar were also spotted visiting the veteran writer earlier in the day. Akhtar, Khan's long-time friend and collaborator, seemed uncomfortable as he entered the building wearing a white kurta-pyjama and refused to stop for the photographers.
Throughout the day, Salim Khan was visited by a number of members of the extended Khan family. Actor Aayush Sharma was spotted arriving, along with Helen, Salma Khan, Arbaaz Khan, Alvira Khan, and Arpita Khan. Iulia Vantur, a close friend of Salman, also went to the hospital to see how he was doing.

The cause of hospitalisation has not been clarified in an official statement from the family. Unverified sources, however, indicate that the author felt "very giddy" before being taken for medical attention, possibly due to a blood clot.
According to reports, he is currently on a ventilator and will undergo surgery tomorrow.
Salim Khan was last seen in public last month at Sohail Khan's birthday celebrations. He celebrated his 90th birthday in November, which is a well-recognised milestone in the Hindi cinema business.
The veteran script writer, who started out as an actor before switching to writing, is regarded as one of the most important storytellers in Hindi cinema. His collaboration with Akhtar, collectively referred to as the Salim–Javed team, reinvented popular storytelling with socially conscious themes and ethically nuanced characters.
Together, they created iconic films like Don, Sholay, Deewaar, Zanjeer, and Andaz, which influenced Indian commercial cinema for many years.
