Veteran screenwriter Salim Khan, father of actor Salman Khan, is reportedly recovering steadily after being hospitalised earlier this month.

The 88-year-old writer was admitted to Lilavati Hospital nearly two weeks ago. According to reports, his condition has been improving and doctors may discharge him soon if the recovery continues at the same pace.

As per a report by journalist Vickey Lalwani, Salim Khan was hospitalised after doctors detected a brain clot. During his stay at Lilavati Hospital, the veteran writer remained under the supervision of a team of specialists and received the necessary medical treatment.

The treatment appears to have worked well, and sources suggest that his health has shown considerable improvement over the past few days. If his condition continues to remain stable, doctors are likely to discharge him within the next three to four days.

The update has reportedly brought a sense of relief to the Khan family, especially his son Salman Khan. In an Instagram post, Lalwani mentioned that the past several days had been difficult for the family, but Salim Khan’s health has been steadily improving under medical care.

So far, however, no member of the Khan family has publicly confirmed the report.

Earlier, pulmonologist Dr Jalil Parkar, who has been involved in treating Salim Khan, had shared an update with the media following the medical procedure.

"There was minimal brain haemorrhage. A procedure called DSA was done today morning. No surgery was required. He is still on ventilator. By tomorrow hopefully, he will be off ventilator. Keeping in mind the age, the time of recovery is more. He's fine, he's stable... All in all, he's doing quite well," he added.

During his hospital stay, the brain clot was treated successfully and doctors have reportedly been satisfied with the progress he has made since then.

Several close friends from the film industry and relatives also visited him at the hospital, including actors Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, along with members of the family.
