  • Ramayana Part II, featuring Juyal, set for Diwali 2027 release
  • Star-studded cast includes Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Yash, and Sunny Deol

Raghav Juyal’s journey in cinema has been quietly but steadily evolving, and his latest casting feels like a defining moment in that trajectory.

After earning praise for his performance in Aryan Khan’s directorial debut The Bads of Bollywood, Raghav Juyal has now landed what many are calling the biggest role of his career so far — a key part in Nitesh Tiwari’s much-awaited mythological epic Ramayana.

The film already boasts a formidable cast, including Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash, making Raghav Juyal’s inclusion all the more significant.

According to Variety India, Raghav Juyal will be seen playing Meghanad, also known as Indrajit, the eldest son of Ravana and the crown prince of Lanka.

His role is expected to feature prominently in Ramayana Part 2, which is slated for release during Diwali 2027. The report adds that the role was initially earmarked for Vikrant Massey, but when that did not materialise, the makers approached Raghav Juyal. He reportedly agreed to take on the part without delay. The actor is expected to begin shooting once he fully recovers from a recent injury.

Within the Ramayana, Meghanad is not just another antagonist. He is remembered as one of the most powerful and intelligent warriors in the epic, a strategist whose presence significantly alters the course of the battle between Lord Rama and Ravana. Known for fighting from the skies and concealing himself within clouds, Meghanad is both feared and respected, making the role a complex and layered one for any actor to portray.

Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, brings together an ensemble that reads like a who’s who of contemporary Indian cinema. Ranbir Kapoor steps into the role of Lord Ram, while Sai Pallavi portrays Goddess Sita. Yash takes on the imposing role of Ravana. The supporting cast includes Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman.

Also on board are Kajal Aggarwal as Mandodari and Rakul Preet Singh as Surpanakha, along with Arun Govil, Kunal Kapoor, Adinath Kothare, Sheeba Chaddha and Indira Krishnan. There are also reports suggesting Vijay Sethupathi may join the project, though this remains unconfirmed.

Backed by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, Ramayana is being mounted on a scale rarely seen before.

The makers are reportedly planning a grand reveal on Ram Navami, with an event expected on March 27 at Mumbai’s Gateway of India, where audiences may get their first look at the film’s world and characters.

Ramayana Part I is slated for release this Diwali, followed by Part II in Diwali 2027.
