As Pulkit Samrat gears up for the release of his much-anticipated comedy Rahu Ketu on January 16, 2026, the actor has shared insights on the changing landscape of humour and the importance of responsible comedy in today’s entertainment environment. In a recent conversation, Pulkit — who headlines the film alongside Varun Sharma and Shalini Pandey highlighted that actors and comedians should be mindful of how their jokes land with audiences while still delivering laughs.

In an exclusive interview with Zoom, Pulkit said, “Sometimes, people don’t take a joke nicely, but we also have the responsibility of making a joke nicely. We should not be crossing the line, but understand the audience. We always gauge the room. It is not necessary to be oversmart all the time with respect to what kind of jokes the audience is open to. If it is a roast and it is intentional, then everyone is playing along. If it is not a roast and you are expecting a Kapil Sharma Show there and get roasted, people will get offended. Kapil is doing a fantastic job at responsibly making people laugh. He is using his jokes and life experiences to entertain the audience.”

Varun added, “Kisi aur ka mazak udana humare liye comedy nahi hai. It is the easiest to make fun of a person, but I believe that is not the right space. There is always an attempt not to make the other person feel bad. Saamne smile kar raha hai lekin ghar jaake na (bura) soche.”

Early reactions to the trailer suggest that the film’s comic tone resonates with fans looking for entertainment that’s both engaging and enjoyable.
