Bollywood actress Mrunal Thakur, whose name has been linked repeatedly with Tamil cinema star Dhanush in recent months, has finally responded to widespread wedding rumours circulating online. On January 17, 2026, Mrunal shared a tranquil video on her Instagram where she is seen standing on a boat against a backdrop of calm waters and golden light.
The actor captioned the clip, “Grounded, glowing and unshaken,” seemingly signalling her composed state amid intense public speculation.
The wedding buzz first intensified on January 16, when social media and entertainment outlets reported that Thakur and Dhanush were planning an intimate Valentine’s Day wedding on February 14, 2026. However, these claims were quickly challenged by sources close to the actors, with insiders calling the reports “fake and baseless” and stressing that neither star has confirmed any such plan.
Rumours linking the two actors have been circulating since August 2025, when Thakur was seen warmly greeting Dhanush at the premiere of her film Son Of Sardaar 2. A video from that event went viral, fuelling online chatter about a possible romantic connection. Despite the buzz, both actors have maintained a relatively private stance, and neither has publicly confirmed a romantic relationship.
Putting an end to the rumours, a source close to the actor has dismissed these speculations and said, “Mrunal is not getting married next month. This is a rumour that has caught wind.”

On the work front, Mrunal was last seen in Son of Sardaar 2 alongside Ajay Devgn. She will be next seen on Shaneil Deo's film Dacoit: A Love Story, alongside Adivi Sesh and Anurag Kashyap in the lead roles. The action thriller will hit the screens on March 19, 2026, coinciding Eid 2026. It will clash with Yash's Toxic and Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar 2.
