Actor Manoj Bajpayee has spoken out against a manipulated video of him that is circulating online ahead of the Bihar elections.
The clip falsely suggested that Manoj Bajpayee was endorsing a political party, but it is actually a patched-up version of an old advertisement he did for Prime Video India.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the Family Man star clarified, “I would like to publicly state that I have no association or allegiance with any political party. The video being circulated is a fake, patched-up edit of an ad I did for @PrimeVideoIN. I sincerely appeal to everyone sharing it to stop spreading such distorted content and urge people not to engage with or encourage such misleading content.”

Concerns about the improper use of celebrity photos and videos on the internet are on the rise in light of this incident. Akshay Kumar recently sued websites and social media companies in the High Court for unauthorised use of his name, photos, and videos.
Citing the proliferation of deepfake videos and the harm they can do to one's reputation, Kumar pleaded for protection of his personality rights. The court acknowledged that a case had been established and granted temporary protection, prohibiting unauthorised use of the actor's image or infringement of his personality rights.

Other celebrities, including Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, and filmmaker Karan Johar, have also taken similar steps to legally safeguard their image and personality rights.
On the work front, Manoj Bajpayee was last seen in the Netflix film Inspector Zende, where he played a determined police officer who captured the infamous criminal Charles Sobhraj twice in his career. The film is currently streaming on Netflix.
