Fans still haven’t got over his cameo in Don 2, when Shah Rukh Khan's character disguised himself as Hrithik's character during a high-stakes heist, and the latest rumours have sent the fans into a frenzy.

However, the makers are yet to confirm or deny Hrithik Roshan’s casting for Don3.

A source told Filmfare, the makers are eager to explore the possibility of the War 2 actor taking over as the next face of the well-known series.

The insider revealed, “Following Ranveer’s exit, Hrithik has emerged as a strong contender for the role. While discussions are still at a very early stage, it will be interesting to see whether Hrithik ultimately comes on board.”

The stakes for Don 3 are extremely high. The producers are fully aware that the lead actor needs to be a well-established celebrity with a strong portfolio. Whoever assumes the role will, after all, be following in the enormous footsteps of Shah Rukh Khan, who redefined the character for a new generation in 2006 and 2011, and Amitabh Bachchan, who established the role in the 1978 blockbuster.

Meanwhile, previous reports have suggested that Ranveer Singh and the Don 3 team parted ways due to creative differences and production-related issues. The split was a mutual but final decision rather than an abrupt departure, as it occurred after several discussions. However, the report denies that Ranveer's recent success affected his decision to leave the project, claiming that box office results had no bearing.

Meanwhile, Hrithik is also gearing up for Krrish 4, which will also mark his directorial debut.

After Dhurandhar's enormous success, Ranveer reportedly left the film and started looking for a new lead. Although neither the actor nor the producers have formally announced the breakup, rumours indicate that Ranveer is turning his attention to Jai Mehta's next project, Pralay.
