Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday starrer Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri has high expectations and is anticipated to perform well at the box office as it was released on Christmas, December 25.
Despite the expectation, the film struggled at the box office, barely making ends meet, receiving tough competition from Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar, which is still dominating the box office 24 days after its release.
Dhurandhar made Rs 22.5 crore on day four, whereas Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri made Rs 5 crore. Ranveer's film has clearly affected other releases.
In the midst of this, movie reviewer Taran Adarsh revealed that he had "requested" the producers to delay the release of Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, but they decided to go ahead with it.
According to Bollywood Hungama, Taran said, "5 days before the release, I called Dharma Productions' team and requested that they postpone the release. I told them, 'There's a strong Dhurandhar wave. You still have time. Even if you get the screens, you won't get the audience'. When I saw the film, I told Kartik Aaryan that he made a mistake by coming amid the Dhurandhar wave."
The film critic added, “I strongly feel that when a film unleashes a tsunami, it's best to shift to another date. There should be no ego at all.”
Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri revolves around two souls who discover each other and fall in love, but family pressures separate them. They leave each other with heavy hearts, with the hope of meeting again one day.
Meanwhile, Dhurandhar has earned over Rs 1000 crore worldwide since its debut in the theatres on December 5. The second part of the film is slated for a theatrical release on March 19, 2026.
