Munjya and Thamma director Aditya Sarpotdar has refused rumours of Sharvari being replaced in Maha Munjya.

There were reports that Pratibha Ranta of Lapataa Ladies is being cast as the new lead in Maha Munjya.

Moneycontrol got in touch with Aditya Sarpotdar and he called these news ' baseless' and dismissed them as rumours.

"These are just rumour articles spread around by publications and social media handles, and Sharvari is a core integral part of the film, so definitely, there is no discussion of any replacement as of now," Aditya told us.

He further said that there is 'definitely is not truth to this. It’s just a rumour.'

Talking about Munjya, the movie was made at a moderate budget of Rs 30 crore and went on to earn Rs 137 cr at the box office last year.

When we asked him about the budget for Maha Munjya if it will go up this time, Aditya said : "Budget wise too early to discuss as we are still working on the scripts.'

The fourth film in the Maddock Supernatural Universe, "Munjya," had a big impact at the box office. Starring Abhay Verma, Mona Singh, Sharvari, and S. Sathyaraj, the film was directed by Aditya Sarpotdar. The fabled story of Munjya, which has its roots in Indian mythology and folklore, serves as the basis for its plot.

Munjya's story revolves around a young man's visit to his native village where he unveils a family secret and a vengeful spirit, the Munjya, who wants to get married. Later the young man must fight to protect himself and his love from Munjya's clutches.
