The official teaser for Dhurandhar 2, officially titled Dhurandhar: The Revenge, sequel to the blockbuster spy thriller, landed on February 3, 2026, but has drawn a wave of mixed reactions from fans online.
While anticipation for Ranveer Singh’s return as Hamza remains high, many viewers were left feeling disappointed after watching the newly released teaser, claiming it offered little genuinely new footage.
The teaser, shared by the filmmakers at 12:12 pm on Tuesday, features high-octane glimpses of action, explosions, and blood-soaked intensity, hallmarks of the franchise’s gritty tone.
Accompanying a new poster unveiled earlier in the day showing Ranveer in a menacing, rain-drenched avatar, the visual build-up set high expectations for fans ahead of the film’s March 19 theatrical release across multiple languages.
However, many social media users quickly noted that much of the teaser appears to be a replay of the end-credits montage from the first Dhurandhar film, rather than fresh scenes from the sequel.
Comments across platforms ranged from playful frustration — with users saying “choona laga diya” (“we’ve been tricked”) — to outright disappointment that the teaser didn’t reveal new plot or character moments. Some users said that there is nothing in the teaser and called it the ‘post-credit’ of Dhurandhar.
Despite the criticism, a section of fans and some celebrities still expressed excitement for Dhurandhar 2, with followers pointing out that less can sometimes be more in teaser releases and that the true payoff will come with the full film in theatres. Many users prasie Aditya Dhar and his ability to keep the story hidden until the film’s release.
Directed by Aditya Dhar and featuring a star-studded cast including Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Sara Arjun, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge is one of the most awaited Hindi films this year.
