Ranveer Singh is all set to return in Aditya Dhar’s spy action thriller Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge. The film has created a lot of buzz among the audience even before the release of the highly anticipated trailer.
The fans' excitement and buzz can be evident with the advance booking statistics in the international market. With over two weeks until its global premiere on March 19, the spy action thriller is headed toward a significant pre-sales milestone.
According to a trade website, the movie has already gained significant traction in North America, with advance reservations for the opening day totalling about $500K, including more than $300K for the premiere. The movie is on track to set a new day 1 record for a Bollywood film in North America, with 13 days remaining till its premiere.
Dhurandhar 2's total advance sales for the first weekend have surpassed $800K, and it is expected to soon surpass $1 million.
The first movie, which became one of the biggest hits in Hindi cinema and amassed a sizable global fan base, also contributed to the booking momentum. Exhibitors in overseas countries have already begun increasing exhibition numbers in anticipation of strong demand due to the high expectations around the sequel.
Additionally, the reduced competition in international markets is another factor favouring the movie, which might enable the sequel to take over screens on its opening weekend. The trailer release is further expected to significantly boost ticket sales and bring the movie closer to smashing premiere records.
Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge will premiere on March 18 and be released on March 19.
