Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are all set to move into their new home, which is the renovated and redesigned version of the Kapoor family’s ancestral bungalow in Mumbai. As the couple prepares to step into their dream residence, the name of the house has now been revealed, with the nameplate recently put up.

Ranbir and Alia’s new home has been named Krishna Raj, a tribute to Ranbir’s grandmother. The name reflects the deep-rooted family connection and legacy of the Kapoor family.

As per reports, Ranbir, Alia, their daughter Raha, and Ranbir’s mother Neetu Kapoor are expected to move into the bungalow soon. Ahead of the move, a puja was performed in November 2025 by Neetu Kapoor, Ranbir, Alia, and Raha, glimpses of which were shared by Alia on social media.

The Krishna Raj Bungalow

The Rs 250 crore Krishna Raj bungalow has been under renovation for several years. Originally constructed nearly 80 years ago, the property was inherited by Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor in 1980. The couple had planned to rebuild the bungalow while incorporating modern amenities.

After years of construction and redesign, the eight-storey bungalow was finally ready in 2025. A special room has been dedicated to Rishi Kapoor, who was unable to see the renovated home and passed away in 2020 after a long battle with leukaemia.

Apart from its thoughtfully designed rooms and floors, the eight-storey bungalow will also function as an office space, allowing Neetu, Ranbir, and Alia to conduct script readings and meetings related to their film projects. The property additionally features a swimming pool and several recreational spaces.

Why is the bungalow named Krishna Raj?

The bungalow originally belonged to Ranbir’s grandfather Raj Kapoor, and his wife Krishna Kapoor, after whom the property was named. As a tribute to his grandmother, who passed away in 2018, Ranbir chose to retain the name. Raj and Krishna Kapoor’s second son, Rishi Kapoor, and his wife Neetu, became the owners of the property much earlier.

In an interview with ETimes, Alia Bhatt described the experience of moving into the new home as “incredibly overwhelming.” Calling it a significant dream coming true, the actress shared that her heart is filled with joy and gratitude.
