Alia Bhatt says online noise about marriage to Ranbir Kapoor doesn’t reach them

Alia Bhatt says the online commentary and memes about her marriage to Ranbir Kapoor don’t reach or affect them because most of it is based on brief, out-of-context clips and isn’t “real.” She emphasises that their long-term relationship and family life remain grounded and unchanged despite the noise.

Bollywood star Alia Bhatt has responded candidly to the ongoing online commentary and scrutiny surrounding her marriage to actor-husband Ranbir Kapoor, emphasising that most of the chatter simply doesn’t affect them. In an interview with Esquire India, Bhatt addressed the persistent memes and social media speculation about their relationship, making it clear that the couple remains grounded and largely unaffected by external noise.

Alia Bhatt explained that much of what people comment on social media consists of brief clips taken out of context. “The noise doesn’t reach us. Because it’s not real,” she said, noting that many responses are based on “three-and-a-half seconds or seven seconds” of footage. "They’re responding to three-and-a-half seconds or seven seconds of what they’re seeing. We’ve been together for seven years. That’s way more seconds than what people are commenting on," she added.

The actor also shared that she and Ranbir sometimes do notice memes about them and find a few amusing, but most of the online noise “never truly registers” in their daily lives. "Even the B of bother doesn’t enter our life. If you’re in a room of fifty people, maybe only four actually care about you. The rest might be thinking terrible things, but you can’t hear them. Is my family dynamic changing? Not at all. Am I living my dream? Yes. Do I go to sleep every day with a grateful heart? One hundred percent," Alia concluded.

Alia and Ranbir who married in April 2022 in an intimate ceremony in Mumbai, have often found themselves the subject of public attention and discussion. Despite the scrutiny, Bhatt’s remarks reflect a grounded approach to public life and a focus on the stability of her personal relationships rather than the fleeting noise of social media.
