After being delayed from its original December 5 release due to some last-minute legal issues, Telugu superstar Nandamuri Balakrishna's action-packed drama Akhanda 2 finally made its way to theatres on December 12 and soon viewers will be able to watch the film at THIS OTT platform.
Audiences and critics alike have praised Nandamuri Balakrishna’s larger-than-life performance and the film’s high-octane action sequences, even as opinions remain mixed on other aspects of the movie.
Now, fans have got an update on its OTT release. Netflix has reportedly acquired the streaming rights, with industry insiders suggesting the film could make its OTT debut on 9 January 2026, as per OTT Nights.
The focus on regional screenings and the delayed wider Hindi release seems to have been a strategic move to build anticipation ahead of the digital launch.
In the sequel, Nandamuri Balakrishna returns as the iconic Akhanda, a character famed for using his divine energy to fight evil. Adding a new layer of tension, actor Aadhi Pinisetty joins as a formidable antagonist with supernatural abilities.
Speaking about his role, as quoted by Economic Times, Aadhi Pinisetty revealed, “When director Boyapati Srinu approached me and mentioned I would be acting opposite Balayya garu, I didn’t ask about the story. I just wanted to know if the role was strong enough,” showing his trust in the director and his respect for sharing the screen with Nandamuri Balakrishna.
The film has been a major hit with the audiences, it's thrilling action, visual effects, and Nandamuri Balakrishna’s heroic presence, making it one of the most talked-about Telugu films of the year.
The fans are already delighted with the announcement of Akhanda 3, which will be continuing the franchise. The official title of the next chapter is Jai Akhanda, thus fans can look forward to the continuation of this action, filled series and more heroic feats.
