Actor, producer and online personality Kamaal Rashid Khan, popularly known as KRK, was arrested by the Mumbai Police on January 24, 2026, in connection with a firearm incident in the Oshiwara area of Andheri West that left residents shaken. The arrest follows a police investigation into two rounds fired that struck a residential building on January 18, though thankfully no injuries were reported.
According to police, the firing initially puzzled investigators as CCTV footage from the area did not show clear leads. However, after a detailed probe and forensic analysis, officers began to suspect that the shots may have originated from a nearby bungalow belonging to KRK. During questioning, he allegedly admitted that the rounds were discharged from his licensed firearm while he was cleaning and testing the weapon at home.
Residents of Nalanda Society, where the incident occurred, reported hearing loud gunfire before police were alerted. Investigators later found projectile impacts on the building’s external walls — one on the second floor of a flat owned by a writer-director and another on the fourth floor where a model resides.
Following his arrest, KRK was produced before a Bandra court, which remanded him in police custody until January 27 to facilitate further investigation. The police have seized his firearm and registered a case under relevant sections of law as they continue to determine whether the shooting was truly negligent or more serious in nature.

KRK, known for his outspoken presence on social media and participation in film work, has previously courted controversy for his statements and actions. In this case, his lawyer has argued that the shooting was accidental and that the effective range of the weapon makes it unlikely the shots could have hit the residential building. The legal process will now unfold as authorities gather evidence and assess all claims.
