Bollywood star Aamir Khan has reportedly played the role of mediator in the ongoing dispute between Ranveer Singh and filmmaker Farhan Akhtar’s production banner, Excel Entertainment’s Rs 40 cr compensation row.

A series of meetings held at Aamir’s Mumbai residence this week saw several prominent industry figures arrive and depart, prompting speculation about the purpose of the gathering — now understood to be aimed at easing tensions between the two parties.

The dispute stems from Ranveer’s exit from the highly anticipated film Don 3, directed by Farhan, which has generated significant controversy in Bollywood circles.

According to industry sources, Excel Entertainment is seeking around Rs 40 crore in compensation from Ranveer for pre-production losses, delays and associated expenses after the actor left the project, purportedly due to creative differences.

Ranveer, on the other hand, is said to have contested the claim, pointing out that he did not receive an advance and was not paid for time lost on other shelved projects.

Filmmaking heavyweights including Karan Johar of Dharma Productions, Sajid Nadiadwala of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, Ektaa Kapoor of Balaji Telefilms, Zoya Akhtar of Tiger Baby Films, and Punit Goenka of Zee Entertainment Enterprises were also seen attending the meetings, reflecting the high-profile nature of the situation.

According to HT City Aamir’s initiative is aimed at bridging the gap between the two sides and finding a mutually agreeable resolution, though details of the discussions have been kept largely private.

"Aamir is trying to resolve the issues between Ranveer Singh and Excel Entertainment. The two have had some unresolved issues, which have caught the eye. The meetings at his place are for the same," quoted HT.

While both Ranveer and members of Excel Entertainment have so far refrained from detailed public comments on the matter, the outcome of these meetings could shape the path forward for Don 3 and other collaborations between the actor and the production house.
