The beloved anime Black Clover is set to make a grand return in 2026 with a brand-new adaptation, as announced at the Jump Festa 2026 stage event. Fans were treated to a teaser trailer along with a fresh visual preview, confirming that the premiere will take place next year.

Crunchyroll has confirmed that it will stream the series as it airs, ensuring that viewers around the world will have access to the highly anticipated comeback.

Studio Pierrot, which produced the original anime, will once again handle animation for the new adaptation, with the original voice cast reprising their roles.

Yūki Tabata began the Black Clover manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in February 2015, later moving to Jump Giga in December 2023. To date, 37 volumes have been released in Japan.

The first anime adaptation, directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara at Studio Pierrot, aired from October 2017 to March 2021, totalling 170 episodes. Additionally, the anime movie Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King was released in Japan in March 2023.

Black Clover’s original TV anime run concluded nearly five years ago, leaving fans eagerly awaiting a potential continuation of the story. With the first season ending on a major cliffhanger, viewers have been eagerly anticipating how the final battles will unfold for Asta and the rest of the characters.

Earlier this year, it was officially confirmed that the anime would be returning for a second season, nearly five years after the conclusion of the first series. The announcement was part of Shueisha’s showcase at the Jump Festa 2026 event, where the franchise was featured prominently.

Prior to the event, fans were teased with promises of something significant, which ultimately turned out to be the first full glimpse of what to expect from the anime’s highly anticipated return.

Considering that the first season ran for a total of 170 episodes under Pierrot’s original production schedule, it is unlikely that the upcoming season will match that length. Industry insiders suggest that the next season may follow a shorter schedule, focusing on delivering a more concise and fast-paced continuation of the story.
