Preparations for the much-awaited grand launch of the new season are moving forward quickly. Although the makers have not revealed much details, the poster and teh premiere date has garnered much anticipation.

The channel had also earlier shared a promo video featuring Vijay Sethupathy, teasing the audience about season 9.

When it was revealed that Vijay Sethupathi would be hosting the series once more, viewers became even more excited. After Season 7, Kamal Haasan left the show, and Vijay Sethupathi took over as host.

Over the years, victors like Arav, Riythvika, Mugen Rao, Aari Arjunan, Raju Jeyamohan, Mohammed Azeem, Archana Ravichandran, and Muthukumaran Jegatheesan have made their names known in the history of the show.

The franchise has also tried out spin-offs including Bigg Boss Ultimate (only on OTT, hosted by Kamal and later Silambarasan TR), Bigg Boss Fun Unlimited (with candidates who had been kicked off), and Bigg Boss Kondattam (a reunion party after the finale).

Bigg Boss Tamil Season 8 concluded on January 19, 2025, with a grand finale. The final, which was hosted by Vijay Sethupathi, saw Muthukumaran emerge victorious and receive Rs 41 lakh. Soundariya came in first runner-up. The season concluded with a total of 106 episodes, which aired on Star Vijay and were also available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.

Now, with Vijay Sethupathi back as host, the upcoming season is building huge anticipation. The show will be aired on Vijay Television like previous season and will stream online on JioHotstar.
