Social media influencer Apoorva Mukhija, widely known as The Rebel Kid, has broken her silence following the India’s Got Latent controversy. On April 9, she released her first video addressing the backlash, sharing her perspective on the events that unfolded after her appearance on the show’s episode alongside Ranveer Allahbadia, where their exchange sparked criticism over 'inappropriate' remarks.

Apoorva Mukhija, known online as The Rebel Kid, released a YouTube video titled ‘Till I Say It Is’ on April 9 at 6 PM, addressing the ongoing controversy surrounding her appearance on India’s Got Latent.

Earlier in the day, she had taken to Instagram to inform her followers—whom she affectionately calls her “cute little red flags”—that she would be sharing her side of the story through the video, specifically focusing on her experience of attending the show and the events that followed.

In the video, Apoorva opened up about her decision to be part of comedian Samay Raina’s show. She recounted the lead-up to her participation and detailed how the situation unfolded during the episode. She also addressed the backlash she received for certain remarks made during the show, which eventually escalated to legal implications. Through the video, she aimed to clarify her intentions and offer her perspective on the entire controversy.

While recounting the incident, Apoorva Mukhija spoke about an inappropriate comment made by a male participant regarding her vagina. She went on to share her reaction to the remark, reflecting on how it affected her and emphasizing the discomfort and disrespect she felt in that moment. She said, "You don’t expect that statement in front of a live audience. When I said that, it genuinely didn’t come from a place of being funny or creating a moment on Latent or being savage, it genuinely came from anger and retaliation."

Apoorva further expressed that their aim was never to hurt anyone except for one individual’s ego. However, they acknowledged that, regardless of their intention, their actions ended up hurting many people — something they genuinely never wanted to happen. "I genuinely create content to entertain people and make them laugh. I never wanted to hurt anybody. I am very, very sorry. I should have been more mindful about my words, but I have learned my lesson, and I promise I will do better going forward," she added.

Apoorva also opened up about her disbelief upon learning that an FIR had been registered against her. She described the emotional strain it placed on her family, revealing how deeply the situation impacted them. As she recounted her experience during this challenging period, she became emotional and broke down while sharing her side of the story.

Apoorva Mukhija, who was one of the guests on Samay Raina's show India's Got Latent, faced major backlash for her controversial remarks, alongside YouTuber-podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, whose question to a contestant involving sex and parents drew heavy criticism.

Having already appeared before the Mumbai Police in relation to the case, Apoorva returned to Instagram on Tuesday and posted multiple slides revealing the disturbing rape and death threats she has received over the past few months.
