Actor Muskan Bamne, best known for her role as 'Pakhi' in the hit TV show Anupamaa, shared that after her departure from the show, she was eager to take her career to the next level, and joining the reality series Bigg Boss 18 felt like the perfect opportunity to do just that.
Muskan Bamne, who portrayed Pakhi in the popular Hindi drama Anupamaa from 2020 to 2023, began her acting journey in 2017 with her debut in Haseena Parkar, alongside Shraddha Kapoor. Talking about Bigg Boss, Muskan told PTI, "It (’Bigg Boss 18’) is a huge opportunity. When I left Anupamaa, I thought I should look for something which would up my level. I have done TV, ads and some movies. Why not do a reality show? Then Bigg Boss came to me. So, I thought, let’s do this."
The 25-year-old actor revealed that she decided to exit Anupamaa, led by Rupali Ganguly, because she wasn't prepared to take on the role of a mother on screen. "It is such a big show, people love it. But I was not comfortable playing a mother. I had made up my mind that if they will show the baby of my character, I will not continue with the show. After the leap, it became obvious they will show a baby. So, I took the decision (to leave)" she added.
The 18th season of Bigg Boss, hosted by Bollywood star Salman Khan, debuted on Colors TV on Sunday night. Muskan Bamne, who grew up watching Khan’s films, expressed her excitement about finally meeting the actor. She mentioned that whenever her family watches films together, it's usually Hum Saath Saath Hain or Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! on TV—two of Khan’s iconic movies that continue to hold their record-breaking status. Bamne added that her family is thrilled she will have the opportunity to meet the beloved star in person.
Coming from a sheltered background, Bigg Boss marks the first time Muskan Bamne will be navigating life independently. However, the actor expressed confidence, stating that she is "ready" to embrace the challenge. "I am friendly but it takes me some time to open up to people. I will try to make friends there. I hope my friendship remains even outside the house. I will try my best to show people what I am like… When I go there, I will get to know them (fellow contestants)," Muskan said.

"Being ill-mannered is not my thing. I don’t think I will misbehave with anyone. But that also doesn’t mean that I won’t say my point. But I will not misbehave," she added. While Bigg Boss is known for its controversies within the house, Muskan Bamne assured that she intends to maintain her best behavior throughout the show.
