Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are back in Mumbai after ringing in the New Year at an undisclosed holiday destination, and their first public appearance of 2026 was as easygoing as it gets. On Wednesday morning, the couple was spotted at the Mumbai airport, where they acknowledged the waiting paparazzi with warm, understated gestures that quickly made their way across social media.

In a video now doing the rounds online, Alia and Ranbir can be seen walking out of the airport terminal, visibly relaxed after their break. Alia greeted the photographers with a friendly wave, while Ranbir responded with his signature calm smile and a thumbs-up. It was a brief moment, but one that fans were quick to notice and appreciate for its simplicity.

Alia kept her airport look clean and fuss-free. She wore a white top paired with minimal styling, black sunglasses, and her hair tied neatly into a bun. Skipping accessories entirely, the actor leaned into a comfortable, practical travel aesthetic. Ranbir, meanwhile, looked effortlessly dapper in a black T-shirt. He completed his look with a matching cap and dark goggles and was seen carrying a backpack over one shoulder, staying true to his low-key style.

Just days earlier, Alia had shared a glimpse of the couple’s New Year celebration on Instagram, offering fans a rare and intimate family moment. The photo featured Ranbir lifting their daughter Raha high into the air as Alia watched on with a smile. Captioning the post, she wrote, “& up you go love.. happy 2026,” instantly winning hearts online. The image reflected a quiet, joyful start to the year for the Kapoor-Bhatt family, away from the public eye.

On the professional front, the power couple is gearing up for their next on-screen collaboration. Ranbir and Alia will reunite for Love and War, directed by master filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The film also features Vicky Kaushal in a leading role, making it one of the most anticipated projects in recent times.

Speaking about the film last year at a meet-and-greet in Mumbai, Ranbir described Love and War as every actor’s dream. He spoke at length about reuniting with Bhansali after 17 years, praising the director’s relentless work ethic, deep understanding of emotions, music, and Indian culture. While he admitted that Bhansali’s process can be demanding and exhausting, Ranbir said the experience is ultimately deeply satisfying and artistically fulfilling.

With a calm New Year arrival and a major film on the horizon, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt seem to be stepping into 2026 with balance, purpose, and quiet confidence.
