PM-elect Narendra Modi, in an address to the nation from the Rashtrapati Bhawan on June 7, expressed his gratitude for the people of India after staking his claim to form a new government for a third term.
He further added that he will take oath as the Prime Minister of India for a third term on June 9, on the invitation of President Draupadi Murmu.
Modi thanked the nation for putting their faith in the NDA for the third time.
"The people of the country have entrusted the NDA government to serve them for the third time. I once again thank the people for this opportunity. I assure them that the pace at which the country has developed in the last two terms has brought visible transformation in every section of society. This is a matter of pride for every Indian," he said.
"I promise that in the 18th Lok Sabha, we will leave no stone unturned in fulfilling the country's aspirations with the same dedication and speed," he also noted.
He also stated, "The NDA meeting was held earlier today, where our alliance partners chose me for this responsibility. All the NDA allies have informed the President, who then called and appointed me as the PM-designate. She informed me about the swearing-in ceremony and the list of Cabinet ministers. I have conveyed that the evening of June 9 will be suitable for us".
Also applauding the Indian media for its wide coverage of the Lok Sabha Elections, he said, "Just like us, media persons also have to work hard during elections, covering different locations. You all have put in a lot of effort, and I hope that the health of all my friends in the media world is good".
