Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on April 21, came down heavily on the Congress, while addressing an election rally in Rajasthan's Banswara.
Slamming the Congress' manifesto one another time, he said the content of the Congress manifesto is both serious and troubling. The Prime Minister slammed the Congress' promise of wealth distribution if elected to power in the ongoing Lok Sabha Elections.
"The Congress has announced that if they come into power, they will conduct a comprehensive survey of individuals' properties. This survey will assess the amount of gold owned by women and the financial assets of government employees. Additionally, they have proposed redistributing the gold owned by women equally among them," said PM Modi.
"Mangalsutra and women’s gold cannot be redistributed," said PM Modi, noting that the government has no right to take over people's private property. "The value of mangalsutra and gold owned by our mothers and sisters is priceless, how can Congress make a promise to take over and re-distribute this wealth", he questioned.
In addition, further taking a dig at Congress, the Prime Minister said, "Congress is now trapped in the clutches of the Leftists and urban Naxals".
Earlier this month, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi emphasised the idea of redistributing wealth in India. He stated that if his party comes to power, a nationwide survey would be conducted to ensure equal distribution of resources among different segments of society based on their population.
The Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) candidate for the Bhanswara Lok Sabha Constituency is Mahendrajit Singh Malviya. Meanwhile, on the Tribal Majority seat, Rajkumar Roat from the Bharatiya Tribal Party is in the field.
The second phase of voting in Rajasthan is scheduled for April 26, during which voting will be held for 13 Lok Sabha seats, including the Banswara Lok Sabha seat.
