Madhya Pradesh has a total of 29 Lok Sabha seats. These constituencies are crucial for any party or coalition aiming to secure a majority in the Lok Sabha, given Madhya Pradesh's significant contribution to the total number of parliamentary seats.
Key candidates in the Madhya Pradesh Lok Sabha Elections 2024 include several prominent political figures. Kamal Nath (INC), the former Chief Minister, is a significant candidate, likely contesting from Chhindwara. Shivraj Singh Chouhan (BJP), another former Chief Minister, is also expected to play a significant role. Other notable figures include Jyotiraditya Scindia (BJP), who is expected to contest from a key constituency, and Digvijaya Singh (INC).
In the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) achieved a significant victory in Madhya Pradesh, winning 28 out of the 29 seats. The Indian National Congress (INC) managed to secure only 1 seat, reflecting a dominant performance by the BJP in the state during that election cycle. This substantial win contributed to the BJP's overall majority in the Lok Sabha, enabling Narendra Modi to secure his second term as Prime Minister.

Madhya Pradesh, with 29 Lok Sabha seats under its belt, is one of the most important states for the upcoming general elections. It is the sixth largest state with respect to the number of seats in the lower house. In the 2019 general elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) registered a massive win after securing 28 of the 29 seats. The Congress, on the other hand, managed to win just one seat. Similarly, the saffron party had also won in 2014 with 27 seats to its kitty while the Congress had two seats. Apart from that, the BJP also witnessed a big victory recently with 163 seats in the 230-member Assembly while Congress won 66 seats. The BJP is hopeful of continuing its winning streak in the state once again and is leaving no stones unturned to cater to the public there. Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone and dedicated to nation multiple development projects worth over Rs 17,000 crore across Madhya Pradesh. Prior to that, he launched multiple development projects worth about Rs 7,300 crore in Jhabua, MP. As for the Congress party, its leader Rahul Gandhi aims to establish a connect through his ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ ahead of the Lok Sabha polls. The yatra covers Morena, Gwalior, Guna, Mandsaur, Shivpuri, Rajgarh, Indore, Shajapur, Ujjain, Dhar and Ratlam districts in Madhya Pradesh. Through the yatra, the party will hope to get some momentum for the upcoming general elections after the shock defeat in the assembly elections.
