'India has voted! A heartfelt thank you to all those who exercised their franchise,' PM Modi wrote on X.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 1 expressed confidence of NDA government returning to power after Exit Poll predicted comfortable majority for BJP-led NDA.

“India has voted! A heartfelt thank you to all those who exercised their franchise. Their active participation is the cornerstone of our democracy. Their commitment and dedication ensures that the democratic spirit thrives in our nation. I would also like to specially appreciate India’s Nari Shakti and Yuva Shakti. Their strong presence at the polls is a very encouraging sign,” he wrote on X.

Hitting out on Opposition and INDIA bloc, PM Modi said, "The opportunistic INDI Alliance failed to strike a chord with the voters."

He added, "They are casteist, communal and corrupt. This alliance, aimed to protect a handful of dynasties, failed to present a futuristic vision for the nation. Through the campaign, they only enhanced their expertise on one thing- Modi bashing. Such regressive politics has been rejected by the people."

He also thanked the NDA karyakartas, saying, "I compliment them for meticulously explaining our development agenda to the people and motivating them to come out and vote. Our Karyakartas are our greatest strength."

According to exit poll predictions, PM Modi is poised to secure a third consecutive term in office. BJP is likely to see a breakthrough in Tamil Nadu as well as Kerala. Conversely, the party may witness slight drop in Maharashtra & Rajasthan, as per News18 exit poll predictions.

Modi also complimented Election Commission of India for "exemplary efforts in ensuring a smooth and fair electoral process." He said, "Their dedication and meticulous planning have been crucial in upholding the integrity of our democracy, allowing citizens across the nation to vote with confidence and security."

Voting for the seventh and the last phase of Lok Sabha elections elections ended on June 1.

After the culmination of campaigning for the seventh phase, PM Modi went to Kanyakumari's Vivekananda Rock to meditate.
