Understanding the UGC NET Result and Cut-Off

The UGC NET Result determines the eligibility of Indian nationals for three key academic avenues:

  • Award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and eligibility for Assistant Professor.
  • Eligibility for Assistant Professor and admission to PhD programs.
  • Admission to PhD programs only.

The NTA releases category and subject-wise minimum qualifying marks (cut-offs) separately for Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship. Candidates must secure marks equal to or above these declared cut-offs to be considered qualified. The agency has reiterated that there will be no provision for re-evaluation or re-checking of results.

For successful candidates, the next step will be the issuance of certificates. As per the NTA's official communication, the e-certificates for the UGC NET December 2025 session will be made available for download on the agency's website in the coming weeks. These certificates will be issued according to the qualification category a candidate has cleared, as listed above.

Candidates are advised to regularly monitor the official NTA UGC NET website (ugcnet.nta.nic.in) for any further official notifications regarding cut-off lists, certificate issuance timelines, and fellowship allocation procedures.
