The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the exam city intimation slip for the Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and Grade ‘D’ skill test. Candidates who have qualified for the skill test can now check their exam city details by logging into the official SSC website ssc.gov.in.

According to the official notification, the admit card or admission certificate will be made available for download two days before the examination. This means candidates will be able to access their admit cards from 14 April 2025 onwards.

The skill test for the SSC Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and Grade ‘D’ Examination 2024 is scheduled to be held on 16 and 17 April 2025. A total of 35,955 candidates have been shortlisted for the skill test. Out of these, 9,345 candidates will appear for the Grade ‘C’ post, and 26,610 candidates for the Grade ‘D’ post.

Candidates who have cleared the Computer Based Examination must appear for the skill test in stenography. As part of the test, candidates will be given one dictation for 10 minutes in English or Hindi (as selected during the application) at the speed of:

  • 100 words per minute (wpm) for Grade ‘C’
  • 80 wpm for Grade ‘D’

It is also stated in the notification that candidates must keep an extra copy of their admission certificate for future reference, as the Commission will retain one copy during the exam.

For those who choose Hindi for the stenography test, learning English stenography later will be necessary, and the same applies vice versa. If they fail to do so after their appointment, their probation may not be cleared by the respective departments or organisations.
