NHAI denies hosting NEET paper leak accused at guest house

Amid reports that the accused related to the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) undergraduate (UG) examination 2024 paper leak case stayed at the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) guest house in Patna, NHAI has refused the claims.

In an official statement, the government agency under the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways said NHAI has no guest house facility in Patna.

“Some sections of the press have reported that the accused related to the NEET paper leak case stayed at the NHAI guest house in Patna. NHAI would like to clarify that NHAI does not have any guest house facility in Patna.  Media is, accordingly, requested to take note of the same and correct the erroneous report if already released,” NHAI said.

In Bihar, authorities have arrested four individuals concerning the NEET question paper leak scandal. The arrested parties include three aspiring students—Anurag Yadav, Nitish Kumar, Amit Anand—and Sikandar Yadavendu, a junior engineer at the Danapur municipal council. These arrests followed confessions from the suspects, who admitted to acquiring and memorizing the leaked question paper, raising serious concerns about the integrity of the NEET-UG 2024 examination.

Amit Anand, identified as the ringleader, confessed to arranging the leak and disclosed that candidates were sold the leaked paper along with answers for Rs 30-32 lakh, according to ABP Live.

This shocking revelation has led to widespread outrage and demands for the cancellation of NEET-UG 2024, sparking nationwide protests.
