Bihar STET 2025

The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has announced that the online application window for the Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test (STET) 2025 will open tomorrow, September 8. This examination is a mandatory requirement for all aspiring teachers who wish to build a teaching career in the state's secondary and higher secondary government schools.

A significant highlight for this year's candidates is the direct pathway STET creates. Successfully clearing the STET 2025 exam grants a lifetime validity certificate, making candidates eligible to apply for the fourth phase of teacher recruitment, BPSC TRE-4, which is scheduled for December 2025.

Prospective applicants should note the crucial timeline for this opportunity. The application process, which begins on September 8, 2025, will remain open until September 16, 2025. The examination itself is slated to be conducted in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) format between October 4 and October 25, 2025. The BSEB has planned to declare the results promptly on November 1, 2025, ensuring a quick turnaround for TRE-4 eligibility.

Understanding the Exam Structure and Eligibility

The Bihar STET exam is divided into two papers. Paper-1 is designed for those aiming to teach at the secondary level (Classes 9 & 10), while Paper-2 is for higher secondary level (Classes 11 & 12). The exam will feature 150 multiple-choice questions, with 100 questions based on the candidate's chosen subject and 50 questions assessing Teaching Art & General Aptitude. Each question carries one mark with no negative marking, and the total duration of the exam will be two and a half hours.

The Board has also provided considerable age relaxation to encourage a wide pool of applicants. General category candidates receive a 5-year relaxation in the upper age limit, while Divyangjan (PwD) candidates are eligible for a 10-year relaxation. The category-wise passing marks are set at 50% for General, 45.5% for BC, 42.5% for EBC, and 40% for SC, ST, Female, and PwD candidates.

Interested and eligible candidates are advised to prepare their necessary documents, including educational certificates and a digital photograph and signature, in advance.
