APPSC has issued a notice confirming that the Group 2 Mains Examination will be held on 23 February 2025 as scheduled.

February 22, 2025 / 13:39 IST

The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has issued a notice clarifying that the Group 2 Mains Examination, scheduled for 23 February 2025, will proceed as planned. This comes after a fake web note circulated on social media claiming that the examination had been postponed.

In its statement dated 22 February 2025, APPSC confirmed that the news of the postponement was false and misleading. The commission has stated that a police complaint has been filed for criminal prosecution against those responsible for spreading the fake information. Candidates have been advised to rely only on the official website of APPSC (https://psc.ap.gov.in) for accurate updates.

Exam Details and Schedule

The APPSC Group 2 Mains Examination will take place on 23 February 2025 in two shifts:

  • First Shift: 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM
  • Second Shift: 3:00 PM – 5:30 PM

Hall tickets for the exam have already been released, and candidates must carry them along with valid ID proof to the exam centre. The examination will be conducted in an objective format, with candidates answering questions either through the Offline OMR-based mode or the Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode.

For some time, APPSC Group 2 aspirants have been protesting and demanding that the examination be postponed. Their main concern is the alleged errors in the roster system, which they believe should be corrected before conducting the Mains examination. The Andhra Pradesh High Court has refused to intervene in the matter, leaving the decision to the government. However, it has given the government the authority to correct any mistakes in the roster system.

Andhra Pradesh Minister and TDP General Secretary Lokesh Nara acknowledged the concerns of the aspirants. In a post on social media, he stated, "I’ve received numerous requests from Group 2 aspirants to postpone the examinations. I understand their concerns and, in consultation with our legal teams, we will explore all possible avenues to find a solution." However, the APPSC has not announced any changes to the schedule.
