Shivam Mishra, the son of tobacco businessman KK Mishra, was arrested on Thursday morning from Kanpur, four days after his speeding Lamborghini crashed into pedestrians and multiple vehicles in the city. The arrest caps three days of confusion and contradictory claims over who was operating the vehicle.

The first visuals of Shivam Mishra after his arrest have emerged. The video shows him at a hospital under police custody, making his first public appearance since the accident. In the footage, police officials can be seen holding and assisting him as he walks through the hospital premises. The video has since gone viral on social media.

According to the Kanpur Police, Mishra’s medical tests were conducted after his arrest, and he was produced in a local court on Thursday. DCP, Central Kanpur, Atul Kumar Srivastava said, "We got information that he (Shivam Mishra) is in Kanpur. Five teams were formed, and we have arrested him, and he has been presented in court. In the investigation, it has been found that during the accident, Shivam Mishra was driving the car."

The incident happened in an upscale part of Kanpur on Sunday afternoon, leaving at least six people injured and triggering a major controversy. Footage emerged 24 hours after the crash showing a bouncer pulling Shivam Mishra out of the driver’s seat of the Lamborghini Revuelto. Locals can be heard in the background urging people to record videos.

A fresh twist emerged on Wednesday in the case after Shivam Mishra’s lawyer, Narendra Kumar Yadav claimed that the permanent driver of the luxury car has taken full responsibility for the accident.

According to Yadav, the driver, Mohan (45) has submitted an affidavit stating that he, and not Shivam Mishra, was behind the wheel when the Lamborghini rammed into pedestrians and vehicles, injuring a man on Sunday evening.
