Bank Holidays 2026

The Andaman and Nicobar Bank Holidays 2026 schedule is issued under Reserve Bank of India (RBI) guidelines and applies uniformly to all scheduled banks, including public sector banks, private banks, cooperative banks, and regional rural banks operating in Port Blair and other parts of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The Andaman and Nicobar Islands bank holiday list for 2026 includes a combination of national holidays such as Republic Day, Independence Day, and Gandhi Jayanti, along with major religious observances like Holi, Idul Fitr, Bakrid, Muharram, Good Friday, Buddha Purnima, Janmashtami, Diwali, Guru Nanak Jayanti, and Christmas Day.

As per RBI norms, banks in Andaman and Nicobar Islands also remain closed on all Sundays and on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month, which are officially designated as weekly bank holidays. Important festivals such as Vijay Dashami (Dussehra) and Diwali are also observed as bank holidays across the Union Territory. While physical bank branches remain closed on these dates, customers can continue to access essential digital banking services including UPI payments, mobile and net banking, ATM cash withdrawals, and online fund transfers through NEFT, RTGS, and IMPS. Normal branch operations resume on the next working day after each bank holiday.
