The two-wheeler wholesales in the domestic market recorded strong year-on-year (y-o-y) growth in February 2026, as demand momentum remained firm on tailwinds from the Goods and Services Tax (GST) rate rationalisation implemented in September 2025. Hero MotoCorp retained a slim lead over Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, with the gap narrowing to 3,778 units during the month.
Hero dispatched 5,16,968 units in the domestic market in February 2026, up 44.69% from 3,57,296 units a year earlier. According to the company, the volumes during the month were supported by scooters and the 100-125cc motorcycle segment.
"The strong performance in February 2026 was driven by continued momentum in the scooter segment, supported by growing consumer preference for new and refreshed models like the Xoom and the Destini. The 100-125cc segment (motorcycle) recorded an impressive growth, providing a substantial boost to overall volumes," the company said.
Hero also claimed that its emerging mobility business, Vida, recorded a threefold increase in its market share over the same period last year.
Rival Honda reported domestic sales of 5,13,190 units, logging a 33.67% growth over 3,83,918 units in February 2025. The company cited strong demand across its product portfolio for the impressive performance.
TVS Motor Company recorded domestic two-wheeler sales of 3,65,471 units in February 2026, up 32.38% from 2,76,072 units in the year-ago month, while Bajaj Auto's domestic two-wheeler volumes rose 27.39% to 1,86,164 units from 1,46,138 units in February 2025.
Suzuki Motorcycle India posted domestic sales of 1,01,071 units, up 38.05% from 73,215 units in the same month last year. The company's Sales and Marketing Vice President Deepak Mutreja said, "Our performance in February 2026 reflects the continued trust and unwavering support of our customers and dealer partners, and we are sincerely thankful to them. Through continuous engagement with riders and communities, we create more opportunities for customers to experience Suzuki two-wheelers in real-world conditions."
Royal Enfield registered domestic sales of 91,248 units in February 2026, an increase of 13% over 80,799 units a year earlier.
"February continues the positive momentum we have seen this financial year, reflecting sustained demand across markets and our growing global community. To prepare for current and future growth, we recently announced plans for a capacity addition that will be achieved over the next 18 months through a brownfield expansion at our Cheyyar manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu. This will take our annual production capacity up to 20,00,000 units from the existing 14,60,000 units," said B. Govindarajan, Managing Director, Eicher Motors, and Chief Executive Officer, Royal Enfield.
