Nissan Motor India today announced the launch of the Nissan Gravite MPV, which is essentially the badge-engineered version of the Renault Triber MPV, at an introductory starting price of Rs 5.65 lakh (ex-showroom). While the full pricing details are not out yet, the Gravite already undercuts the Triber at the entry point as the latter starts at Rs 5.76 lakh (ex-showroom).
In profile, the Gravite is quite similar to the Triber. However, the Gravite has some tweaks on its face for a hint of distinctiveness. The grille is new with a hexagonal pattern, taken from the Magnite SUV. You find C-shaped accents at the front and rear, which are part of the global Nissan design language. As usual, you have LED projector headlamps with integrated LED DRLs and LED fog lamps. At the rear, you have LED taillamps. There are pronounced wheel arches with 15-inch styled steel wheels.

In total, there are five colour options on the new Gravite. One of them, Forest Green, has been taken from the popular Nissan Patrol SUV.
Moving inside, you get dual-tone colour shades, and suede and leatherette seats. Overall, the layout is similar to what we find in the Triber. Even the features are the same. You get an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment that supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. There is a fully digital instrument cluster with multiple display patterns. You have multiple seating configurations, which is a smart thing in both Gravite and Triber. The MPVs get cruise control as well.

The Gravite comes with over 45 safety features, with more than 30 of them as standard. You get six airbags, electronic stability control, ABS with EBD, brake assist, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
Powering the Gravite is the 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine of the Triber. The motor develops 72PS of maximum power and 96Nm of peak torque. The transmission options include a 5-speed MT and a 5-speed AMT. The Gravite mileage is claimed to be 19.3kmpl for the MT version and 19.6kmpl for the AMT version. Nissan has confirmed the availability of a dual-cylinder CNG kit with the Gravite.

The standard warranty is three years and 1 lakh kilometres, which can be extended further.
The Gravite is available in five variants -- Visia, Acenta, N-Connecta, Tekna and Limited Launch Edition. As the name suggests, the Limited Launch Edition is limited to 1,001 units.

Nissan is also offering a special package for the first 5,000 customers of the Gravite. This package includes the special introductory price, zero service cost for five years, Nissan loyalty program, 5.55% rate of interest from Nissan Finance, and an exclusive upgrade benefit.
