The country's largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki India, has commenced the exports of its new mid-size SUV, the Victoris. The first batch of over 450 units was shipped from Mundra and Pipavav ports in Gujarat.

Maruti Suzuki has plans to export the Victoris to over 100 countries across the globe, with key regions being Latin America, Middle-East and Africa. It will be called the 'Across' in international markets.

The Victoris is among the rare Maruti Suzuki models that have scored a five-star safety rating at Bharat NCAP as well as Global NCAP.

"Maruti Suzuki's export journey is guided by the vision of Make in India, Make for the world. In calendar year (CY) 2025, with exports of over 3.9 lakh vehicles, we emerged as India's number one passenger vehicle (PV) exporter for the fifth year in a row. The year also marked our re-entry into Europe with the start of exports of our first battery electric vehicle (BEV), e Vitara," the company's MD and CEO, Hisashi Takeuchi, said.

"If we look at the growth of India's PV exports in the past five years from CY20 to CY25, while the rest of the industry grew by 1.43 times, Maruti Suzuki exports grew by 4.67 times. The addition of Victoris will further support our export ambitions, and we are hopeful it will be well received in international markets," he added.

In India, the Maruti Suzuki Victoris is priced between Rs 10.50 lakh and Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). It is based in the highly competitive mid-size SUV segment and rivals the likes of the Tata Sierra, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.

The Victoris has multiple powertrain options. There is Suzuki's usual 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine (103PS/139Nm) with 5-speed MT and 6-speed AT options. You also get a CNG option (88PS and 121Nm) with a 5-speed MT. Then, there is a 1.5-litre strong hybrid mill with an e-CVT, with the powertrain making a combined 116PS and 141Nm.

The Victoris ia Maruti Suzuki's first model ever in India to get an underbody CNG tank. You get an ALLGRIP Select (4x4) option with petrol AT, as well as terrain modes like Auto, Snow, Sport and Lock.

The SUV is 4,360mm long, 1,795mm wide, and 1,655mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,600mm. It runs on 17-inch wheels and has a 45-litre petrol tank or a 55-litre CNG tank, depending on the variant.

The Victoris is not the most feature-loaded model in its segment. It still offers bells and whistles like a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster, 10.1-inch SmartPlay Pro X touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Infinity audio system by Harman with Dolby Atmos, Level-2 ADAS and Suzuki Connect telematics with over 60 connected features. Six airbags, disc brakes all around, a 360-degree camera, and an electronic stability program are standard across variants.
