Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Ltd today launched its new electric three-wheeler, the Mahindra Udo, at an introductory price of Rs 3,58,999 (ex-showroom). The company said the standard ex-showroom price is Rs 3,84,299, with the lower price applicable for a limited period.

The company described the Mahindra Udo as its most advanced electric three-wheeler and said it is built on a segment-first full monocoque construction.

The Udo features bold headlamps, stylish mirrors and a large windshield. Inside, it offers ergonomically designed seats, including a driver seat referred to as a pilot seat, which the company said is nearly 20% thicker than other vehicles in the category. Passenger seating is designed to provide generous headroom and legroom. The vehicle is equipped with independent rear suspension and dual fork front suspension.

Mahindra stated that the Udo delivers a real-world driving range of 200km and an ARAI-certified range of 265km. It is powered by an IP67-rated 11.7kWh laser-welded lithium-ion battery pack and a PMS motor producing 10kW of peak power and 52Nm of torque.

The vehicle features regenerative braking combined with a first-in-segment reverse throttle. It also offers hill hold assist and creep functions. The tri-mode driving system -- Range, Ride and Race -- allows drivers to switch between operating modes. The top speed is 55kmph in Race mode.

On safety, Mahindra stated that the Udo has powerful drum brakes enabling the least braking distance in the segment, as per internal tests. The vehicle rides on 12-inch tubeless tyres. The battery, drivetrain and charger are IP67-rated. The Udo is backed by a warranty of 1,50,000 km or six years, whichever is earlier.

The company is offering free services up to 1,00,000 km and enrolling customers into its Uday Nxt scheme, which includes Rs 20,00,000 accidental insurance for the vehicle owner and financial counselling benefits.

The Udo is manufactured at Mahindra's plant in Zaheerabad, which includes automated battery assembly and robotised production lines.
