During Maruti Suzuki's monthly sales briefing, the company's Senior Executive Officer for Marketing and Sales, Partho Banerjee, said: "Our production capacity is operating at 100%. Our new line is expected to be commissioned by April. From May onwards, we will be further able to scale our numbers."
"Our network stock now is just 12 days, out of which seven days are in transit. We are having a very low network stock," he added. The company currently has 1,90,000 pending bookings.
Maruti Suzuki has also strengthened its SUV portfolio with the launch of the Victoris, a mid-size model competing against the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Tata Sierra and Kia Seltos. The company already had a similarly sized model in the form of the Grand Vitara SUV.
"We have doubled our sales in the mid-size SUV segment. Last year, we were doing 10,000 units a month. This year, we are doing over 20,000 units a month. As a result, our share in the mid-size SUV segment has gone up from 12.8% to 19%," Banerjee said.
